Our sustainable solutions

For some time now, the headlines of the food industry have been dominated by the extensive EU plastics regulation, which is calling for considerably less plastic and significantly more recycling. SEALPAC facilitates sustainability goals of manufacturers with packaging solutions under the “GO sustainable!” initiative. Well-developed concepts that save on the environment and allow for more sustainable packaging of food and non-food items.

Global challenge

Achieving better climate protection through more sustainable use of resources is a global challenge. The packaging industry clearly has a holistic responsibility and must consider the many interlinked aspects in the development of more sustainable, yet at the same time functional packaging.

Our focus is on developing customer-specific packaging solutions that minimize the impact on the environment, yet still provide sufficient product protection and convenient handling for consumers. Being a proud member of the SAVE FOOD initiative, we believe the slogan can only be: as little plastic as possible, as much as necessary.

Our Research & Development department is continuously looking for ways to further reduce the amount of plastics used for pre-packaged food and non-food items. At the same time, recycling must be further promoted. This is where we can support by allowing the consumer to separate the packaging into its individual components.

This has resulted in a number of innovative solutions that support our customers in achieving their sustainability goals, such as paper-based skin packaging (FlatSkin®), portion packs that reduce food waste, paper-based thermoformer packaging, sealing and lidding in one single step to avoid the additional snap-on lid (EasyLid®), mono materials to produce recyclable thermoformer packs, paper-based trays for modified atmosphere packaging (eTray®), and many more.
