The PerfoLid system reaches the optimum protective atmosphere inside the pack by laser perforation of the top film, where the amount and size of the holes is perfectly tuned to the breathing pattern of the product. This increases the shelf life of pre-packaged fruit and vegetables significantly.
Optimal shelf life
In combination with a special tray, which provides full lid functionality without requiring a snap-on lid, their shelf life can even be increased at the consumer’s home. Tests with strawberries and grapes have shown that, after opening the PerfoLid tray, consuming some of its content, re-closing the tray with the laser-perforated lid, and placing it back in the refrigerator, the colour of the product maintains and the product stays juicy for much longer.
