When treating patients, whether in surgery, general practice or at a dentist, it is extremely important to monitor the hygiene of all instruments, devices and other supplies. In case of packaged products, sterility is an absolute must, without room for compromise. SEALPAC offers various packaging solutions that can provide the necessary sterile barrier.
We also provide packaging options for other non-food items, such as blister-like packaging or pre-perforated packs on our thermoformers. In these applications, highest product protection, both in transport, storage and while being at the point-of-sale, is of the utmost importance. SEALPAC would be happy to support you in your search for the right packaging format.

FIBI-buffer is conquering the market with its fully compostable packaging material
SEALPAC RE25 thermoformer supports Dutch company in launching its biodegradable packaging materials.
Sterility assurance is supported through precise, repeatable forming conditions, controlled material handling, and a consistent sealing process that ensures highest integrity. Barrier performance is maintained by accurate forming of cavities without thinning or stress points, and by preserving the functional properties of the films applied (e.g. Tyvek®, PP, or multi-layer barrier films). Product protection is ensured by tight dimensional control, gentle forming of critical geometries, and robust pack designs that protect the devices against mechanical damage, particulate ingress, and environmental exposure.
Each SEALPAC traysealer or thermoformer is CE-certified, but that is not enough. We also have our equipment tested according to the strict German GS quality mark. This guarantees maximum safety for your operators. The scope of the GS mark includes essential product characteristics, such as electrical safety, ergonomics, and noise, but also covers an evaluation of our factory production. Initially designed for the German market, it is now a worldwide recognized mark of quality and safety, which ensures that our machines adhere to the highest possible standards. For applications in the United States, we comply with FDA, which governs the safety, manufacturing quality, labeling, and efficacy of food, drugs, medical devices, cosmetics, and tobacco products to protect public health.
Since the foundation of our company, SEALPAC machines have been designed to run all of today’s and tomorrow’s packaging concepts on the same base machine. This includes modified atmosphere packaging and sealing only packaging, even in blisters. As packaging experts, we would gladly sit down with you to design the optimal pack for your non-food product. Our traysealers and thermoformers can handle any kind of material, from medical-grade paper to mono-plastics. For example, we run Tyvek® film combined with rPET, a premier choice for manufacturing sterile barrier systems in the medical and pharmaceutical industries.
In non-food applications, foremost involving medical products, we have gone through comprehensive validation processes, mostly led by our customers. In general, we work closely together with leading manufacturers of packaging materials and equipment to develop packaging lines with optimal sealing and maximum traceability. We work jointly with you towards the optimal solution for your individual application, so that every single one of your products will arrive safely at retail, hardware stores, or medical centers.
SEALPAC machines have been designed to operate in the most demanding production environments, including sterile or controlled environments. Our high end traysealers and thermoformers further reinforce reliability through full process control and monitoring (e.g. temperature, pressure, forming and sealing times), compatibility with cleanroom operation and GMP environments, validation readiness, and compliance with relevant standards.
SEALPAC traysealers and thermoformers are designed to run all current and future packaging concepts on the same base machine. Furthermore, all SEALPAC machines are equipped with innovative quick tooling exchange systems that make switching between different applications easy and avoid unnecessary machine downtime. On our thermoformers, for example, the sealing top tool can be replaced with minimum effort using a special trolley. This makes the exchange not only much quicker, but also safer for your employees, who no longer have to lift or carry heavy components. Other quick exchange systems include the side exchange or swivel table for bottom tools. On our traysealers, we offer the possibility for a tooling exchange from both sides of the machine using a unique SEALPAC trolley with integrated power connections. As such, a format change can take place within minutes.
Each machine supports a wide range of packaging solutions, from sealing only applications to today’s sustainable material concepts, including medical-grade films. For example, we run Tyvek® film combined with rPET, a premier choice for manufacturing sterile barrier systems in the medical and pharmaceutical industries. Innovative packaging features can also be integrated, such as the unique EasyPeelPoint system, which enables particularly user-friendly opening of the pack by the consumer. The combination of high precision and intelligent control ensures that the machine reliably handles even the most demanding materials and geometries. Both our traysealers and thermoformers are capable of handling any modern, recyclable, ultra-light, or mono-materials without headaches.
The output always depends on a number of factors, such as product, format, packaging concept, and production environment. A packaging line can only go as fast as its slowest component, but this will not be the SEALPAC packaging machine. As an example, our A10max traysealer in double-lane execution could package 200 trays per minute under MAP (based on a 190 x 144 mm tray). However, line efficiency is also important. Every unplanned interruption, inefficient movement, or disruption in the process directly impacts production costs. Against this backdrop, our packaging machines are consistently designed for stable, reproducible processes. We rely on robust construction, intelligent monitoring systems, and automated assistance functions that ensure flawless operation again and again. As such, we achieve the highest OEE in the market, sometimes up to 99.5%.
SEALPAC equipment is known for its flawless integration into new and existing production lines. As such, the machines enable you to set up fully automated solutions for the processing and packaging of your products. Any synchronization, be it with inspection systems, multi-head weighers, coding equipment, labellers, metal detection, or even end-of-line equipment for secondary packaging, is made easy. Furthermore, SEALPAC machines are fully prepared for Industry 4.0, meaning that they can be easily integrated into digitalized production environments via standardized interfaces (e.g. OPC/UA). This allows for maximum control and traceability.
When evaluating a packaging line, simply looking at the investment costs is no longer sufficient. What matters is how efficient the line is in daily operation and what the actual cost per package is. Energy consumption, material usage, changeover times, uptime, and process stability, even when using more challenging mono-materials, are directly interconnected. The total cost of ownership can only be determined by knowing your exact production details. In general, we know that the investment costs of a SEALPAC machine are less than 3% of the total line costs, that we have 90% less air consumption by using servo technology, that we can run up to 10% thinner films on our thermoformers due to the SmartShape forming technology, that we can place 33% more trays in a tool by running Long Side Leading, and that we have up to 30% less film consumption with InsideCut whilst achieving an excellent product appearance. Furthermore, our machines are built to last: over 95% of every traysealer or thermoformer ever built is still in operation!
