  • Can the packaging effectively extend freshness and shelf life for fresh produce?

    Owing to their consistent sealing process, regardless whether using modified atmosphere packaging or sealing only, SEALPAC traysealers and thermoformers always guarantee maximum shelf life. Naturally, this also depends on the packaging materials used and the production environment (e.g. hygiene and temperature). Oxygen levels play a decisive role when packaging fruits and vegetables. To prevent drying out or spoilage, it is necessary to regulate the breathing process. Innovative solutions, such as E-MAP, allow for the extension of shelf life and freshness of fresh produce. E-MAP is an advanced development of the established vacuum and gas process, which maintains the oxygen levels inside the pack at between 2 and 6 percent, the optimum level for fresh fruits and vegetables. High-tech films have oxygen transmission rates which are matched to the breathing characteristics of the respective products, thus guaranteeing an optimum atmosphere within the package for longer. Consequently, your products retain their great flavor, their pleasant aroma, and their appetizing appearance.

  • How well does the machine handle delicate products without bruising or damage?

    SEALPAC equipment is designed to handle delicate products. This is reflected in our tray handling and sealing process. For example, on our traysealers, we use our unique MAP+ vacuum and gas system, which requires a less deep vacuum compared to other suppliers. This guarantees reduced product exposure, shorter cycle times, consistent gas values and reduced gas consumption when packing your fresh-cut fruits or vegetables.

  • Can the system support modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) for respiration-sensitive products?

  • What packaging formats are supported (top seal, flow pack, convenience trays, portion packs, etc.)?

    Since the foundation of our company, SEALPAC traysealers and thermoformers have been designed to run all of today’s and tomorrow’s packaging concepts on the same base machine. This includes classic modified atmosphere packaging and sealing only packaging, but also more complicated packaging concepts such as separate InsideCut for portion packaging. As packaging experts, we would gladly sit down with you to design the optimal pack for your product.

  • Can the machine reliably run recyclable, compostable, or fiber-based packaging materials?

    Each machine supports a wide range of packaging solutions, from classic MAP applications to today’s sustainable material concepts. Innovative packaging features can also be integrated, such as the unique EasyPeelPoint system, which enables particularly user-friendly opening of the pack by the consumer. The combination of high precision and intelligent control ensures that the machine reliably handles even the most demanding materials and geometries. Both our traysealers and thermoformers are capable of handling any modern, recyclable, ultra-light, or mono-materials without headaches.

  • How flexible is the system for seasonal products and varying pack sizes?

    SEALPAC traysealers and thermoformers are designed to run all current and future packaging concepts on the same base machine. Furthermore, All SEALPAC machines are equipped with innovative quick tooling exchange systems that make switching between different applications easy and avoid unnecessary machine downtime. On our thermoformers, for example, the sealing top tool can be replaced with minimum effort using a special trolley. This makes the exchange not only much quicker, but also safer for your employees, who no longer have to lift or carry heavy components. Other quick exchange systems include the side exchange or swivel table for bottom tools. On our traysealers, we offer the possibility for a tooling exchange from both sides of the machine using a unique SEALPAC trolley with integrated power connections. As such, a format change can take place within minutes.

  • What output can realistically be achieved during peak harvest and packing periods?

    The output always depends on a number of factors, such as product, format, packaging concept, and production environment. A packaging line can only go as fast as its slowest component, but this will not be the SEALPAC packaging machine. As an example, our A10max traysealer in double-lane execution could package 200 trays per minute under MAP (based on a 190 x 144 mm tray). However, line efficiency is also important. Every unplanned interruption, inefficient movement, or disruption in the process directly impacts production costs. Against this backdrop, our packaging machines are consistently designed for stable, reproducible processes. We rely on robust construction, intelligent monitoring systems, and automated assistance functions that ensure flawless operation again and again. As such, we achieve the highest OEE in the market, sometimes up to 99.5%.

  • How effectively does the packaging manage moisture, condensation, and ventilation?

    SEALPAC machines have been designed to operate in the most demanding production environments, including wet or even acid environments. As a result, over 95% of every traysealer or thermoformer ever built is still in operation!

  • How easy is the machine to clean and maintain in wet production environments?

    Due to their sophisticated design with optimal accessibility, SEALPAC traysealers and thermoformers stand for enhanced protection of both product and personnel. Whether it concerns the stainless-steel body that can be hosed down, the integrated slopes that optimize water drainage, or the avoidance of interfering contours: our machines allow for fast, simple and reliable cleaning.

  • What are the total operating costs, including film usage, labor, energy, and maintenance?

    When evaluating a packaging line, simply looking at the investment costs is no longer sufficient. What matters is how efficient the line is in daily operation and what the actual cost per package is. Energy consumption, material usage, changeover times, uptime, and process stability, even when using more challenging mono-materials, are directly interconnected. The total cost of ownership can only be determined by knowing your exact production details. In general, we know that the investment costs of a SEALPAC machine are less than 3% of the total line costs, that we have 90% less air consumption by using servo technology, that we can run up to 10% thinner films on our thermoformers due to the SmartShape forming technology, that we can place 33% more trays in a tool by running Long Side Leading, and that we have up to 30% less film consumption with InsideCut whilst achieving an excellent product appearance. Furthermore, our machines are built to last: over 95% of every traysealer or thermoformer ever built is still in operation!
