StretchMap provides a sustainable alternative to common stretch-wrapping. By applying a shrinkable lidding film tightly over the product, which lies slightly above the tray edge, the fresh product is hermetically sealed under modified atmosphere. This fully automated process prevents any leaks.

How does StretchMap work
The name StretchMap indicates that, similar to traditional stretch-wrapping, we are applying a shrinkable film with stretch properties, yet in a fully automated manner that guarantees a hermetic seal under modified atmosphere. As such, your fresh products have an optimal shelf life and are carefully protected. The tight-fitting film allows for vertical presentation of the tray at retail and reduces drip loss.
Improved recycling
For the sealing process, a traditional MAP tool is used, but with an isolated dome. This allows variable product heights, but with up to 20 mm product protrusion in the middle of the pack. The system can be applied for both foam and plastic trays. By moving to mono plastic trays, significant improvements in recycling can be made. Especially compared to the traditional foam trays with overwrap.
